About
Founded in 2009, Altewai.Saome is a fashion brand that offers an eclectic mix of Scandinavian simplicity and international high fashion. Behind the brand are the two Swedish born designers Natalia Altewai and Randa Saome. During the years leading up to starting Altewai.Saome the founders spent several years studying and working for different fashion houses in Italy.
Altewai.Saome combines clean lines and monochrome colors with unique details and mixed fabrics in a stylistic and international character. Altewai.Saome has emerged as one of the most talked about new designers on the Scandinavian fashion scene and is now showing their fourth collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm.
The Collection A/W 12
For autumn/winter 2012 collection the inspiration is found in shadow play and the different moods that create duplicity of character. A strong woman is always in focus, the style either subtly feminine or more masculine, all depending on the many moods of a woman. The subtle mood of wilderness versus calm has inspired two different silhouettes functioning together. The silhouettes are both voluminous and pared down to represent contradictory emotions, some garments featuring a mix of both. This is also evident in the moody/sharp color scheme, featuring grays that range from light dove to darkest granite, juxtaposed by bright orange and crisp white.
