The Autumn-Winter 12/13 collection “Ensemble” is about looking elegant with ease, beautiful but not forced. It’s about usable pieces for the regular days or evenings in grand saloons. It’s the subtle, small things such as the Ubi Sunt main features like the frayed edges, unconstructed suit jackets and the exquisite knitted jersey that assemble the looks self-evidence. It’s about letting things have its way, and simply be.

//////MOTIF
The phrase “ubi sunt” is Latin for “where are” – a literary motif dealing with the transience of life. Our name comes from the longer Latin sentence, "Ubi sunt qui ante nos fuerunt?"(“Where are those who were before us?”); the phrase “ubi sunt” is a literal motif that has been used in different cultures over the centuries – a sentence that evokes the transience of life, youth, beauty, and human endeavour.

//////PHILOSOPHY
The vision behind the Ubi Sunt concept and it’s collections is to celebrate and express gratitude for what once was – the development of humanity and the achievement of those before us. Therefore we are proud that a selection of each collection always includes exquisite jerseys that use a unique knitting technique with roots from late 19th century.
